The core part of the light emitting diode is a chip composed of<strong> P</strong> type semiconductor and <strong>N</strong> type semiconductor. There is a transition layer between the <strong>P</strong> type semiconductor and the <strong>N</strong> type semiconductor, called <strong>PN</strong> junction, which is the LED chip.

<strong>5050 Red LED</strong> and the<strong> 5050 Green LED</strong> got a different PN junction. For the <strong>Red LED</strong>, the PN junction is "<span id="w_502" class=""></span><span id="w_503" class="">up-down"&nbsp;structures.</span><span id="w_504" class=""></span> Which means the<strong> LED chip</strong> need to connect the gold wire in the top and connect the conductive silver paddle in the bottom.

But for the <strong>Green LED</strong> or <strong>Blue LED</strong>, it just need to connect the left side and the right side with the gold wire.

This difference will make the<strong> Red LED chip</strong> got a higher size than the <strong>Green/Blue LED</strong>. So when we packaged it, we will adjust the&nbsp;quantity of&nbsp;silver paddle according to the<strong> Red LED</strong><strong> chip</strong>, which will make sure the <strong>LED </strong>have a high quality for work.
