Product Detail

1. To produce stiff and full finishes.
Citibond ZAP may be used as a straight finishing agent for textiles to modify their hand leaned draping properties. Finishes produced with CITIBOND ZAP have considerable resistance to repeated washing although some loss of stiffness occurs.
2. To produce modified handle in resin finishes.
CITIBOND ZAP can be used to modify the handle of finishes produced with CITININE G C. It also confers improved abrasion-resistance when used in such finishes.
3. For Carpet back-sizing.
Citibond ZAP is used for back-sizing of carpets where it shows bacterial attack and excellent stability as compared with the usual glue and flour sizes. The resin liquors can be kept for long periods without any deterioration. Any slight sediment can be easily stirred in before use. Carpet back-sizing with CITIBOND ZAP is carried out using the normal equipment.
Where brushes are used after back-sizing they should be avoided, as the resin will be difficult to remove from the bristles after drying. The strength of sizing liquor will depend on the degree of stiffening required and on the pick-up of the liquor by the carpet. The following is recommended as a basis for trial.

4. As a Bonding and laminating Agent.
CITIBOND ZAP is an effective bonding and laminating agent possessing good adhesive properties and it may be used in doubling or combining processes. The dispersion is applied
By the speeding machine and normal drying temperatures are sufficient to affect the bond.
5. For Production of non-slip finishes.
CITIBOND ZAP may be used in the production on non-slip finishes, on loosely woven rayon goods and for protective coating on yarn and fabrics. An improvement in draping property is obtained and the tendency to pilling is reduced.
CITIBOND ZAP is not normally substantive to textile fibers and is best applied to pieces goods by padding. It may be applied to knitted goods by impregnation below 30oc, As a general finish, impregnation liquor containing 10-15 g/l of CITIBOND ZAP should be used.
