Diethylene glycol tert butyl ether is an excellent solvent with low toxicity. It has two groups with strong solubility in chemical structure, namely, lipophilic covalent ether bond and hydrophilic alcohol hydroxyl group. It can dissolve both hydrophobic and water-soluble compounds, so it is called "universal solvent". DETB has very low odor and good solubility for coating resin. It shows good binding properties to various resins. In addition, it has excellent film-forming properties
